In January the terminal introduced a new procedure to optimise and speed up delivery of driver documentation.

The TEPSA Barcelona terminal has cut global oil loading process times by up to 18%, which equates to 8 minutes. This improvement in the process has been achieved in little over 10 months, given that the new system was introduced in January.
In order to speed up this process, an automatic decoumentation delivery system has been developed which, along with driver biometric identification, and tractor and tank detection using a RFID system, enables drivers to enter and exit the terminal without having to leave their vehicle, all of which optimise time.
Currently, the average monthly traffic in the Barcelona terminal exceeds 1,600 tanks.
